One the most known and recognisable sources of renewable energy, solar panels can be found in use all over the world. They are used on homes, office buildings, commercial units, solar farms and more.
They are made up of Photovoltaic cells which are mounted in a framework and wired into the building.
These cells absorb sunlight and turn them into a Variable Direct Current (DC) which is then sent to an inverter. The most common types of solar panels are monocrystalline, polycrystalline and thin film panels with different types developed for different weather conditions around the world. We can help you decide what's best for your needs whether it's for residential or commercial use.
Sometimes known as a converter and a requirement when having solar panels installed, a solar inverter allows energy produced by your solar panels to be used around your home or business. Inverters work by converting the Direct Current (DC) from solar panels into Alternating Current (AC) which can then be used for any electrical needs.
It can also feed any unused or unstored electricity into the main power grid which can have added bonuses. Please contact us to find out more.
We will help you with the recommended size and type of inverter that suits your needs.
Solar batteries store the excess energy produced by your PV solar panel system instead of sending it to the main power grid.
You can then use this stored energy at a later time such as in the evenings. Some batteries will even act as a backup power supply in the event of a power cut.
If your battery is full then any excess will still go to the grid. However, a thorough and calculated assessment during your appointment should mean that your battery is the correct size, with adequate storage capacity for what your panels produce.
If you have any questions or queries on battery storage please contact our team and we will help you every step of the way.
One of the most important and yet underestimated aspects of having renewable energy systems, is maintaining it correctly to ensure that it is always working at its maximum efficiency for you.
We have various maintenance plans available depending on which systems you have or alternatively we can tailor one unique to suit your needs, providing a total piece of mind.
Plans can include cleaning and maintenance of PV solar panels, regular inspections and servicing by our accredited electricians; boiler and heating services and much more. Contact us today and see how we can help you and provide the service and piece of mind that you are looking for.
Wind turbines are another well known and easily recognisable source of renewable energy.
They work on a simple process of using wind to rotate the blades which in turn spins a generator, creating electricity.
Not all wind turbines, however, are the 300ft tall industrial ones that are visible for miles. Domestic wind turbines are on the rise.
These have the added advantage of producing energy year round and working 24/7. Whether you want your turbine roof mounted, pole mounted, stand alone or if you’re unsure, contact our team today for all the help and advice you'll need.
Both air and ground source heat pumps are a heating and cooling system that works all year round. Ground source heat pumps work by placing pipes underground which then uses the natural thermal energy in the earth to heat or cool a liquid inside. This then flows around the home via a heat exchanger. The temperature underground is naturally cooler than the air above during warmer months and warmer than the air above during cooler months.
Air source heat pumps absorb energy from the outside air as it blows across a heat exchanger. This is then transferred to the internal water system which warms the water and flows around the property through the radiators. Even in cooler winter months the volume of air flowing over the heat exchanger is enough to heat your home.
Air to air heat pumps work by bringing warmer air into the property using a series of fans which then warms the air in the room. In the warmer months this changes to bring in cooler air using the same system to cool the room.
All of the different types of heat pump use electricity to function, but they are one of the most efficient and cost effective ways to heat your property or water system as they produce more energy than they use. Please contact our team for more information, or for help in deciding which type of heat pump best suits your needs.
EV Chargers are, at its most basic, a charging cable that plugs into an electric vehicle to charge the battery.
This works in very much the same way you plug in and charge your mobile phone. With the increasing rise in electric vehicles on our roads, the need for charging points has increased significantly.
As such more and more petrol stations, retail car parks and supermarkets have installed charging points for their customers to use. Drivers of electric vehicles, however, also need to charge their vehicles when they’re at home or in the case of business or company vehicles, when they are either at work or in readiness for the next day.
As such, the need for domestic and commercial EV chargers are also in increased demand. Whatever your needs are, we are here to assist and provide.
